Message from the CEO
Greetings and welcome to Lautoka City Councils revamped website!
With the appointment of the Team of Special Administrators in 2019, the Council has been undergoing reforms to improve the service delivery to Lautoka’s ratepayers, businesses and the general public.
This new website sets up an ideal platform for transition to the digitalization of Councils services, such as:
- Complaints management.
- Applications processing.
- Online payments for rates, permits, licenses etc, and tracking for expiry and renewals.
- Digitize services to support ratepayers, business license processing, facility bookings, etc.
- App development for ratepayers, business license processing, etc.
- Improve cyber security for Councils emails, documents and file servers,
- Digitize old records and archives, to clear up office space being utilized by files so that new recruits can occupy the spaces instead of putting expenses in building new office spaces.
- Implement a Document Management System for better work flow to access files and folders for all departments to archive fast services ratepayers and other stakeholders
- Implement financial software with rates billing and HR management for better accounting process and controls with minimizing manual process.
- Upgrade on Laptops and Desktops for end users wherever required.
- Server and backup system to be implemented as contingency plan and disaster management with data management to eliminate data losses with cloud solutions.
Council hopes this small step in implementing a modernized website sets up a platform for growth to take the Council into the future.
